Central Theme
The central theme of the story is the tension between the opposing forces of isolation and love.
Both are explored and evaluated through the plot arc of Rangi and Papa, who are isolated and desire love, and Kō's social ostracism and forbidden love. The tension will play out as Kō tries to find love for herself, while preventing the love of Rangi and Papa.
Structurally, the theme is about an external state of affairs that the protagonist is trying to maintain through action.
